New Relationship Bailer

Summary: Every year for the past four years we always go to Las Vegas and now my friend met this girl about a month ago and is bailing. WTF?!
Stakes: Not only do you get your puss-ass on the flight you pay for a lap dance for me for even thinking this bs!

— "Stakes" are what the loser of the case owes the winner (e.g. "Dinner and a movie," "two kicks to the groin," etc.).

Tell Your Friends About this Case!

Plaintiff Arguments [Feb 8, 2010]

No tail is worth bailing on your buddies for, none! That's what my friend is doing though. He is bailing on our annual trip to Vegas because he "fell in love" with some girl over the holidays.  It's been a month and he is head over heels in love with her. I'm happy for him but to bail on the trip is ridonkulous!!!!!

I hear he's bailing on dinners and card nights up there which is fine.  The four of us always go out to Vegas the weekend after Presidents Day to reconnect and now he says he's bailing because there is "nothing in it for him anymore".  I don't even know what that means.  Someone help me understand why my friend is being such a little biatch. I mean this is Vegas ... IF ... IF this works out you'll be wishing for trips to Vegas in due time, enjoy your time now with no kids and no commitments and pull the tampon out and come see us!!!!

Defendant Arguments [Feb 9, 2010]

Look there are two reasons to go to Vegas, when you are single and when you are married for awhile and need a release or a little vacation from reality.  I just started dating this girl and not to sound gay but I really like her alot.  I don't need the undo pressure of "behaving" myself in Vegas with you animals. It's a waste of money for me at this time in my relationship with her.  I'm eating the cost of the plane ticket and would rather not go and potentially get into trouble or have her worry about what I am up to out there.

I'm more than willing to come out there and see you, maybe with her so she can meet your better half but I don't want to go to the bachelor party capital of the world right now. Please understand that and F U for that BS references about me being a vagina. There really isn't anything in it for me anymore.  So go stare at some camel toe and enjoy, I'll be home enjoying some newly found strange ass you hater!

i agree. i already know which way i'm voting. it's totally true you'll be wishing for time away from her as time goes on. hah. i should know i'm married. the wife feels the same way. you just need to get away with your friends sometimes.

I have friends like this. They always come back when they're single.
EvilPenguin wrote:[Feb 9, 2010]
well...
...blowing off pre-existing plans for someone you just started dating sets a bad precedent. I say you go. It never hurts to make someone miss you a little...or are you afraid of what SHE might get up to in your absence?

you do what you feel good about. every other opinion is a populous as assholes.

Growing up
It sounds like your growing up and leaving some immature friends in the dust. Good for you to stand up to them and be with your new lady instead.
Mensa_dventure wrote:[Feb 10, 2010]
I tell my friends "Yes, I will choose a woman over you... and Yes, you had better be ok with that..." Furthermore, if it doesn't work out with girlie, I expect us guys to hang out like old times without anyone being whiney about it. I mean, if you take the profanity out of the plantiffs statement, it sounds awfully insecure and feminine. Just add a "we girls got to stick together" and you are all set. On the superficial side, you aren't going to be licking his balls... and on the serious side, you aren't going to be bearing his children. Either way, you lose. Being independant means not being pussy whipped by your guy friends either.

It is fairly obvious why the defendant has a meaningful relationship with an actual girl, and the plaintiff is still looking for free lapdances in Las Vegas....
EvilPenguin wrote:[Feb 10, 2010]
Let's not get carried away...
...dating someone for a month isn't a "meaningful relationship"....it's a fledgling relationship that may or may not develop into something more. And if you can't take a break from someone one month into a relationship, it seems a bit clingy to me.
dh4645 wrote:[Feb 10, 2010]
how is the defendant winning. come on people!
Quimichu wrote:[Feb 10, 2010]
Well...
... try to look at it from the defendant's perspective, is he supposed to get away from his girl in a fledgling relationship (which he's hoping will turn into a meaningful one) in order to go to the "bachelor party capital of the world"? He'd be practically killing the relationship and any female that says she wouldn't think of dumping his ass in this situation is most likely lying (just take look at the stakes on this case!)
dh4645 wrote:[Feb 11, 2010]
if a female considers dumping her bf because he goes on a trip with his friend isn't worth being with. if she is like that already in the relationship, just think how controlling she'll be later. you dont bail on your friends for more time with a chick you just started dating...especially since you dont get to see those friends very often. it just seems ridiculous to me.
