Plaintiff Arguments [Mar 12, 2010]

I want a Blu Ray. Saw one this week and couldnt be more impressed by the quality of the sound and picture. I have a $600 digital sound system, a $2000 LCD TV and a $20 monthly membership to Netflix and I am watching old DVD format. Why not spend the $300 to upgrade the quality since we have already spent the money on all the other components to run it? Needs to happen.

$300 is a lot to spend right now on a luxury item. While it would be nice to have the extra quality, the picture still looks pretty damn good. We are saving to buy a house so I think a better use of the funds would be in the savings account where we can save for something with real upgrade value.

Does anyone 'need' a BluRay player? I would also guess if you were a film lover who was willing to pay a premium to buy/rent the movies, you'd have gotten a BluRay long ago. Also keep in mind 3D TVs and players are coming out this summer.

My question is how could you even spend that much on a home theater system and NOT have Blu-Ray? Seems like kind of a waste... Buy a PS3 and you will have one of the best players out there and word is it will be 3D capable with a firmware update.

yeah get a ps3, thats what i have. then you have a video game console, a media center and a great blu-ray player. if you have all that other nice equipment, it's time to upgrade. as long as it fits in your budget and your not buy a player instead of paying bills. :-)

I was gonna say PS3 too. Sony was taking a loss on them to get the BlurRay technology in the home and win the format war. That was two years ago and the price has dropped since then.

You can pick up a stand alone player for less than $100 now... Just need to shop around a little. The quality won't be that different... Can get the player and placate your gf at the same time.
